Reloxin Update

The initial studies indicate that Reloxin kick in within 48 hours rather than 72 hours for Botox, it may last 6 months rather than 3 months.

With the arrival of Reloxin, the price for Botox may come down. Currently Botox ranges from $10.00 a unit to $15.00 a unit. Typically, one needs 20 units for the frown lines. Some practices are charging per area not per unit. Many doctors have Botox specials, or Botox days where they discount the price. A word of caution. Know your injector. There  are cases where the Botox actually is diluted and you are not getting the amount you need for the most effective result.
Reloxin does the same thing as Botox and comes with the same precaution as Botox. Again, knowing your injector is very important.  Most physicians today, have their nurse or medical aesthetician do the injections.  I personally, only go to a Derm, Plastic Surgeon or a RN who has been trained by Allergan.   If a non- aesthetic physician or nurse is giving injections, make sure that they have been doing it for awhile and have been properly trainind. Although it sounds like an easy injection. If the injector does it improperly you could you have droppy eyes, be lopsided or look scary.
Reloxin should be available in July.

  1. Thank you for your comment. Reloxin just received FDA approval. It is not widely available yet. I will be curious to see what happens to Allergan's market share of Botox and if the price will come down.Thank you for following my blog…M

  2. I am loving your blog. Thank you, thank you!!! How long has Reloxin been on the market. I have not tried either botox or Reloxin but one day that may not be the case. I too only go to a Derm for treatments. I am still a novice and have only had laser done. Thank you so much for this valuable information. xxNadia
