Being in the beauty industry affords me the opportunity to try many products. I travel and lecture at industry meetings and medical conferences which have exhibits halls featuring the best industry leaders in aesthetics.  I usually come home with more products than I can possibly use. Companies also send me products to evaluate, hoping I’ll blog about their greatness.  I look for products that have science to back them up.  I don’t believe in hype or products promising that you will look 10 years younger  in 6 weeks.  I also don’t buy mass market skincare products sold in department stores.  I am loyal to the products that keep my skin looking great.

My skincare routine is fairly simple: RX Tazorac PM, Exfoliate with a AHA cleanser, apply Vitamin C serum, eye cream and sunblock in the AM.  My challenging areas have always been my eye area, neck and décolleté .

In 2014, I had the privilege of interviewing derma diva on NipTuck Talk Jan Marini, founder of Jan Marini Skin Research. Jan shared some of her skincare secrets with me and  taught me about product chemistry during our interview and post-interview phone calls. I stopped using Tazorac and adopted Jan Marini Skincare Management system, plus Jan Marini Clean Zyme Face Cleasner and mask.  I’m thrilled with the results. My skin is never irritated or peely anymore (except when I get a chemical peel or laser treatment).

Skincare

Jan Marini Skincare Management System: My #1 life saving anti-aging skin care solution for 2014.  It’s an easy Anti-aging System with clinically proven results.

Jan Marini Retinol Plus MD: I switched from Tazorac to non RX retinol. No dryness or peeling.

The neck is a hard area to treat. I’ve tried a couple of neck skincare products and found them not to live up to their claims.  Marini Juveneck debuted in 2014.  A revolutionary anti-aging cream specifically formulated for the delicate neck area. Clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and creases, refine skin texture and increase hydration. I’ve used Juveneck for 3 months applying it 2x a day.  I’m very pleased with the results and can see a softening of my horizontal band lines. Juveneck is a keeper. Sun Block: EltaMD tinted. I don’t leave home without it.  I use it as a foundation, before applying any make-up.

Body:  My Body is the new kid on the block. I love their Firm and Tone Body Lotion and Skin Prep Body Polish.

Post-Treatment Products

Jan Marini Bio Shield is an amazing post laser product. There is nothing on the market that compares to Bio Shield. I used for a series of laser treatments.  It’s pricey at $130.00, however worth every dollar.

My Body has a  post- treatment kit, Calm-It Down and a  Professional Pro-Biotic treatment that can be applied pre-and post peel, featuring topical probiotics bioactives.
